Collaboration with The Designory on their ‘Ayana House’ Project

Being the owner of a design firm means that I see so many incredible products on a daily basis, but when it comes to my own home I am very considered when choosing products and can certainly be a tough “client”. We commissioned a bespoke copper shower from Brooklyn Copper for our recent property development which also ended up being our new abode. We wanted something with a clean and timeless aesthetic that would work well in the modern, tropical spaces of the new property. The shower is positioned at the front of the house so it needed to make a real statement. Working closely with Simon regarding the location and function of the shower, it’s now positioned perfectly against a simple black backdrop which really lets the handcrafted nature of the piece shine and shows off the patina of the copper which will only improve with age making it more of a statement as time goes by. It has become almost like a work of art and is the first thing people comment on as they enter the property.

Working with Simon was a dream – his wealth of plumbing knowledge combined with his clear love of raw materials and creative mind meant that he had so many great ideas but was also able to design it in a way that was easily incorporated in to the project. He worked closely with our building team to install the shower without a hitch. I couldn’t recommend Brooklyn Copper more highly and will definitely be including them in many projects to come. For now though, we’re just looking forward to rinsing off the beach under our beautiful rain head shower in our palm tree paradise!
